Hadco Facility
Cuisine: Italian
Susanne Dillingham
101 West Worthington Avenue Charlotte, NC 28203 704-332-0909
Susanne's journey into the culinary arts derived from a love of the performing arts. She was looking for an artistic outlet that didn't include greasepaint & footlights and found it in the world's sauces and sauté pans.

Italy was the backdrop for Susanne's formal culinary training at the acclaimed Apicius Culinary Institute of Florence. Not only did she learn the techniques necessary for a professional career, she became fluent in conversational Italian and began a love affair with wine that continues to this day. Never one to rest on her laurels, she continued her education at the International Sommelier Guild, where she is a candidate for the Sommelier Diploma.

Currently the Executive Chef at Charlotte's HADCO showroom, Susanne conducts cooking demonstrations on the latest kitchen appliances and teaches lively cooking classes that always end with a standing ovation. With a passion for all things food & wine and a presence that hints at her performing past, Susanne is poised to take the culinary world by storm.

Cajun Queen
Cuisine: Creole, New Orleans Style
Co-Owner/Chef Robby Gottfried
1800 East 7th Street Charlotte, NC 28204 (704) 377-9017
Enjoy the friendly, laid-back atmosphere of 'Nawlins without having to leave your back yard. Experience the sensation of true New Orleans cuisine has never been easier. We have a number of entree and drink specialties, including Dixie Beer - the beer that made New Orleans famous! Barbecue shrimp--grilled shrimp soaking in a sauce crammed with Creole seasoning--and spicy fried oysters that come with a tangy dipping sauce may well be the best two appetizers in town.

You can order your choice of crawfish, chicken or shrimp served three different ways: etouffee, Diane or Creole. Cajun Queen, like other restaurants in the offbeat Stanleyville section of the Elizabeth neighborhood, is located in an old house. Every room contains a party; you'll see more smiles in Cajun Queen than in a McDonald's commercial.

Fenwick's On Providence
Cuisine: American
Catherine Rabb
511 Providence Road Charlotte, NC 28207 704-333-2750
Fenwick's is a tiny restaurant that has been serving classic comfort food to loyal fans since 1984. Owners Catherine and Don Rabb try to keep their customers happy - which means not changing the menu much in the years they have had the restaurant. That's okay by most, who come expressly for appetizers like cream of potato soup, onion rings and chicken fingers. Entrees include crab cakes, fried oysters, juicy burgers, steak sandwich, chicken salad and chicken-broccoli casserole. Sides include hearty chunks of fresh veggies, fresh fruit and hand-cut fries. The staff is casual and friendly (everyone seems to know most everyone in the place), and if you have to wait for a table you can do so at the small bar. Everything about Fenwick's is homey and comfortable, from the food to the prices and everything in between.
